Richard “Dick” E. Stout 75,
Altoona, died Tuesday at his residence after a brief Illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Fred
and Frances (Wendt) Stout. Dick married Joan Frates on December 13, 1954
in Altoona.
Richard is survived by his
wife Joan, two sons: Daryl K Stout of Altoona and girlfriend (Amy Rapczak) and
Brady R. Stout of Altoona, five grandchildren: Mark, Adam, Brianne, Bailey, and
Addyson. Brother: Ronald H. Stout
(Carol) of Altoona, Sisters: Shirley L Havlin (Thomas) of Altoona, Nancy Homan
of Altoona. Brother in law: John Frates
(Sue) of Florida, and a sister in law: Carol Ann Gallucio of NJ. He is preceded in death by Sons: Richard D,
James B, Robert D, and Grandson Brandon J. Stout. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran
Church in Juniata. Richard was a 1955
graduate of Altoona High School and Attended Penn State University. Richard retired from Altoona School District
as a Vo-Tech teacher. Previously he was
a contractor. Richard coached baseball,
he was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan, enjoyed traveling and bowling was an avid
animal lover, loved spending time with his family.
Service
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc. 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona 16601. A Funeral service will be held at the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc. at 10 am Friday January 18, 2013 by Pastor Elizabeth Hess. Interment will be at the Blair Memorial Park.

As a young ballplayer, I knew Dick and his sons as athletic competitors, great men and wonderful friends.
Such a loss.
My condolences to the family and all who knew and loved him.
