Marjorie R. Emerick, 89, Presbyterian Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of State College and Altoona, died Tuesday at Altoona Regional after a brief illness.

 

Marjorie was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Stephen E.  and Ruth M.  (Lockard) Rupe.  She married Drew L. Emerick on February 9, 1946. 

 

Marjorie is survived by her husband, brothers; Donald H. Rupe of Altoona and Dean E. Rupe and wife Madeline of Centre Hall, sister-in-law; Naomi Rupe and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by a brother; Jack Rupe and sisters-in-law; Barbara Rupe and Beatrice McConahy.

 

Marjorie was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, State College where she taught Sunday school for many years.  Marjorie was also a member of State College Christian Women’s Club.

 

She enjoyed playing cards in her card club, painting and especially spending time with her family.


Service
Friends will be received from 1 pm until a 2pm funeral service at Simpson Temple United Parish, 2212 6th Ave., Altoona, Pa 16602 by Pastor Larry H. Louder. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
