Alice Virginia "Ginny" Harris
Alice Virginia “Ginny” Harris, the daughter of
James Wallace Foster & Charlotte Baumgartner-Foster, died at the Gwinnett
Medical Center in Duluth, GA on Thursday, Dec 20, 2012. She was preceded in
death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Shute and Louise Reighard; and
bothers-in-law Tom Shute and Edward Reighard. On April 1, 1941, in Altoona, PA,
Ginny married Charles D’Neil “Neil” Harris, who preceded her in death on July
20, 2012. Surviving are son James, his wife Hyeon and their two children Joshua
& Angelica, and son Jeffrey, his wife Lucia and their daughter Katherine.
Ginny was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest pleasure was
spending time with her grandchildren. She could
light up a room with her smile and laughter and always had a sweet treat tucked
away for those visiting her. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening,
bridge, and spending time with her friends and family.
Ginny was a member of Wayside Presbyterian
Church, Erie, PA for more than 42 years and was an officer and Circle member.
She was a licensed beautician and employed by Household Finance during the
Family and friends will be received from 10 am until the 11 a.m. funeral service, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc. 2309 Broad Avenue Altoona, PA 16601, Pastor Mark R. Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
