Sarah M. “Sally” Price, 92, of Shippensburg, formerly of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord  Monday, February 1, 2010, in Chambersburg.  She was born February 4, 1917 in Altoona, the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Priscilla (Baumgardner) Davis.  Sally married Gaythorne J. Price on February 16, 1936, in Maryland.  He preceded her in death on November 22, 1941.  She was a Charter Member of Altoona Bible Church.  Sally retired from the Penn Central Railroad as a clerk on June 31, 1978 after being employed for 34 ½ years.  She was the past president of Railroad Business Women, Past President of Christian Friends at Altoona Bible Church, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum.  Sally was active at the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren Women’s Work.  Many of Sally’s caregivers and nurses affectionately new her as “Sunshine”.   Sally is survived by her son, Samuel G. Price and wife Jennie of Duncansville and her daughter, Priscilla M. Smith and husband Robert of Shippensburg, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers.  Friends will be received from 4-8pm on Thursday, February 4, 2010 and 9-10 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2010 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Stewart W. McClelland and Ken Krater.   Interment will be held at Alto Reste Park.  In remembrance of Sally, those who wish may make contributions to Altoona Bible Church, 3017 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA, 16602. 

Service
A funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Stewart W. McClelland and Ken Krater.
