Sherry Lynn Kaufman

Sherry Lynn Kaufman, 59, of Altoona, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 at ARHS Altoona Hospital Campus following an extended illness.  She was born February 22, 1950 in Altoona, the daughter of Patricia (Hollen) Walls.  Sherry married Barry Kaufman on October 24, 1992 at their home in Altoona. She was employed by J.C. Penney Company for 18 years in jewelry sales and price maintenance. Sherry was a 1968 graduate of Altoona Area High School.  She enjoyed crafts, was an avid reader, and loved her animals.  Sherry is survived by her husband, stepdaughter, Ronda Kaufman Kimberlin and husband Matthew, two grandchildren, Madelin & Johnathan, and her mother.  She was preceded in death by her stepfather Lee Walls.  Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2010 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona.  A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Mt. Sinai Cemetery.  In remembrance of Sherry Lynn, those who wish may make contributions to American Cancer Society, 1004 N. Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA  16648.
